for joining us? >> the san jose police officer is in the water. he is under investigation for pretending to arrest his stepdaughter's boyfriend. anne makovec is in san jose to show us what prompted him to handcuff a 15-year-old boy. >> reporter: he is accused of doing something that a lot of fathers would probably like to do, placed handcuffs on the boy who is accused of having sex with your child. but this is something that can land him in handcuffs. riding a police motorcycle and wearing a full uniform, a veteran san jose police officer is accused of abusing his authority driving to the home of this 14-year-old stepdaughter's 15-year-old boyfriend and handcuffing him for having sex with her. >> the handcuffs are the dethis case. if it's just a lecture and the officer being upset as any parent would be in this situation, that's one thing. but the minute you put handcuffs to scare somebody, that's where it could rise to the level of false imprisonment. a very serious allegations. >> reporter: sex between teenagers is a misdemeanor but citations are rare, especially from a parent. >> it i

. the redwood shores lagoon is surrounded by businesses. and quite a few people told us that they saw the plane was in trouble before it hit the lagoon. >> a big splash, a big thump. >> i saw the wing turn very sharply. i saw it come straight down, as i recall there was a slight spin as it went into the water. >> reporter: the sheriff department rescued divers as well as the coast guard. one body, a woman was found outside the wreckage. >> i don't know what happened, why she was not in the plane, but i can tell you she was found a couple of feet from the plane. she was not seat belted into the interior. >> reporter: the plane's fuel and oil has leak into the lagoon water but the lagoon has been closed since a sewage leak earlier this week and now will remain shut down. >> we're going to issue an advisory to the redwood shores community that they should stay away from the water throughout the lagoon. >> reporter: some pilots at the san carlos airport told us they believe one passenger was bob borman, the founder of borman steel company. some employees at the east palo alto airport confirmed borm

for joining us. one east bay neighborhood is waking up to closed streets, construction equipment and a watery mess. terry mcsweeney joins us live from pleasant hill with the latest on a frustrating water main break. what we call breaking news. terry? >> double breaker. broke eight days ago, broke last night here near cay cay way. they've still got the water coming out of the ground here. they say they're doing that to stabilize the pressure and they do have water back to the 40 homes and 100 plus people who were without water, again, since about 7:30 last night. not news to the people out here. it was eight days ago, the very same pipe broke in a different spot but the very same pipe broke. they were without water yet again. crews have come out. they have circumvented the break and getting water to the homes. the street though is in a very, very interesting location. four schools are located near here, including diablo valley college. so in about an hour or so, students start walking, parents start driving their kids to school and this becomes a very busy street. they hope to have the street

morning. thanks for joining us. i'm kristen sze. >> i'm eric thomas. topping our news this half hour, pg&e is investigating the possibility that microbes inside a natural gas pipe might have caused the deadly san bruno explosion two weeks ago, this unlikely but has happened before. jenelle is live in san bruno to tell us more. >> yes, it has, ten years ago in the new mexico desert that pipeline ruptured killing 12 including three young children. investigators found pitting in the pipeline. the corroded area spread across 21 feet of the pipe and some areas 72% of the pipe wall had been eaten away. now, that pipeline in new mexico was over 50 years old and 30 inches in diameter. those are the exact same specs as the pipeline here in san bruno. the possible cause is called microbiological influence corrosion. this report came out in the san francisco chronicle this morning. it's basically micros that go undetected in a tiny pool of water inside the pipeline and then start eating away at the metal causing it to corrode. according to the article this morning, pg&e told state regulators last y

the oil began to leak. the u.s. coast guard says it will resume its search later this morning for a woman that placed a may day call in the waters off the coast of tiburon. they conducted searches from the richmond san rafael bridge and to angel island but failed to locate the caller. officials also broadcast alerts to marine traffic in the area. >> it's now 5:05. investigators will resume their search for a fifth day this morning looking for a body that may have been dumbed at a pittsburgh landfill. they're focussed on a one-acre stretching hoping to find clues that led to the whereabouts of frederick salas. he may be the fifth victim in the string of murders all at the hands of valdemoro. police say so far the tedious search has yielded just one clue and it's not much. >> the only thing they have found is a piece of letterhead that had a hercules dress but it's not related to this case. >> investigators are searching in the right area where trash from hercules was dumped. possibly the same trash from the business park where valued marrow once worked and where the car he had was abandone

always gets us there... ... sometimes it just takes us a little longer to get back. ♪ a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza back up to the macarthur maze. there was an oil spill on the upper deck after a bus lost its transmission. that's why we are so badly back up for this necommute. the meter and lights were turned on a very close to 6:00 a.m. you can see things are backed up let switchover showing you traffic trucker interstate 80 is backed up all along the glory short freeway. we are seeing indications of of back up in macarthur maze. let's back that out a bit you can see there ride coming down from the freeway is definitely slowing things. slow from children's hospital in the westbound direction. a big problem for this commute. you can see all approaches are born to be jammed for a while. let's take go look at another problem interstate 580 in the westbound direction the back up from 2 05 interchange through the altamont pass towards airway boulevard. that was where there was another spill. the traffic has moved much better through livermore. the problem is a back up reach

is closed near airport boulevard because the chopper flipped over on the freeway. sal joins us more with how its impact -- how it is impacting traffic. >> the chopper went down south. south of airport remains closed. the chopper crash caused a spill in the lanes. >>> seven people are stranded right now on a boat north of concord. the coast guard says there's 17 - -- the 17-foot motorboats somewhat became stranded last night near ryer island. you can see the boat right there. this was just a short time ago. the coast guard can't rescue the four adults and three children on their yet because the boat is in very shallow waters. the rescue is expected later this morning during high tide. we'll keep an eye on it and give you an update later. >>> 7:01. this morning, law enforcement teams investigating a killing rampage will focus their search on clues on a pittsburg landfall. kraig debro is there now and joins you with an update on this investigation. good morning, kraig. >> reporter: good morning, tori. we're at the keller landfill in pittsburg. it's a little ways away from the pittsburg b.a.r.t.
